lost one of its literary giants, Michael
King. We pay tribute to
Michael, arguably our country's greatest historian and
biographer, by featuring his defining work, "The
Penguin History of New Zealand".

Government finally revealed its new-look proposed foreshore
and seabed legislation. Altered to please NZ First,
Helen Clark now doesn't need to worry about probable
opposition from three of her own Maori MPs - she has
enough votes to pass it next month with or without them.

are expressing
grave concerns for the future of New Zealand's
energy supply after a major hydro-electric project,
Project Aqua, was binned. Difficulties with resource consent
approval contributed to the cancellation of the $1.2 billion
Waitaki river dam project, which could lead to black-outs

Auckland beat NSW and thrashed the Bulls
- Wellington beat Queensland then had a bye
- Canterbury beat the ACT Brumbies, but lost to the
Sharks (in South Africa though - tough conditions)
- Waikato beat Otago. The following week, Waikato lost
to the Cats and the Highlanders were walloped by the
Brumbies.

their managers enjoys wearing fairy wings to work
and makes her employees display a photo of a monkey on
